Knowledge: "False positive" alcohol values on breathalyzers

Breathalyzers can also "strike", i.e. show values on the display when the test person has not drunk any alcohol.

This can be the case, for example, with:

- Diabetics with acetone (acetone is a metabolic product that occurs, for example
produced, for example, by insulin deficiency)
- if the microbiology of the intestine is disturbed (homebrew syndrome)
- with disinfectants or solvents in the ambient air
- if the test candidate has previously taken medication
- repeated use of the breathalyzer mouthpiece.
Please always use a new mouthpiece for each measurement
